Summary:
Medifast is an all-inclusive diet plan where users can purchase and invest in pre-approved meals to go along with their shakes. That being said, we are not evaluating products on peripheral items that might be offered, just the protein shakes!
We’ll cut to the chase on Medifast as it has a soy base #1 ingredient (as you know, we are not at all fans of soy due to all of its known health effects, read our blog post about this here) and fructose as a second ingredient. Fructose is a sugar complex that can attribute to weight gain. For this reason, we would rather drink a shake that is made with an all-natural, sugar-free sweetener like stevia.
These aspects, coupled with a recent $3.7 million fine for falsely stating weight loss claims, makes it difficult for our staff to recommend these shakes.
However, if you’ve tried the Medifast shakes, we’d love to hear from you! What did you think?

I appreciate the review of the Medifast shakes. I too am concerned with the soy content, but they do have some soy free ones such as the Dutch Chocolate Shake (might have whey though) and it is the most delicious & satisfying of all the chocolate flavored shakes I’ve tried.
