Summary:   Yoli is another Multi Level Marketing product which always is a bit of concern to our staff because of potentially higher mark-ups.  This extra money is usually used to pay distributors instead of going back into the quality of the product.  In this case however, we were surprised to find such high quality ingredients at this price point. First Yoli’s whey is biologically active, non-denatured, and minimally processed — it’s called Purawhey™.  With this foundation, Yoli shakes adds a bevy of natural ingredients  (no artificial sweeteners, colors or flavors) along with its natural sweetener, stevia.  We love seeing stevia as a sweetener as its a natural herb with no known side effects that really does the job.  The problem for companies is that stevia costs substantially more than artificial sweeteners like aspartame, sucralose, or maltodextrin (think Splenda, Equal, etc).  Hormone free whey, natural sweeteners, etc. are always a great indicator of the quality of the product.  You need to ask yourself on each shake you evaluate “did they dilute the proteins with soy or other inexpensive proteins just to save a buck or did they go the full mile and leverage more expensive proteins like whey or pricey sweeteners like stevia?  With so many studies coming out on the dangers of synthetic sweeteners, we are always happy to see folks pay the extra buck to keep the bad out and put the good in.   Great job Yoli!
